Renata R. Simatupang

Dr. Renata Simatupang is a Research Fellow with the Local Public Sector Initiative. Based in Jakarta, Dr. Simatupang is an expert in public finance with extensive knowledge of subnational governance and finance in Indonesia. Working with the World Bank, the Urban Institute, and other reputable international development organizations, she engages in policy research and provides technical assistance for public policy reforms. Among others, she designed and implemented a capacity building program to support the development of a subnational capital market in Indonesia.

Dr. Simatupang earned her BA in economics from the University of Indonesia (2001) and a Masters and PhD in economics from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies (AYSPS) at Georgia State University (2009).
